A lifetime of snapping
I first took a camera into my hands when I was 15. That was well over half a century ago and I have been fascinated by the art of photography for all that time. Eventually I came to a point in my life when I realised I needed to do photography full time so I gave up the desk job and started my own company. My special love is photographing landscape and I am lucky to live in one of the most beautiful countries on the planet. Since I retired over a decade ago I have travelled all around the South Island of New Zealand capturing the extraordinary beauty of its landscape. Capturing images of the ephemeral has deepened my understanding of the need to relish the passing moments of beauty that we encounter in our lives. It has also taught me that after clouds and rain there is often sunshine if we have the patience and the fortitude to wait for it. Everything in life can be a metaphor. We just need to think about it.

I like photographs that challenge us to look more closely.
